4Poster FitJul 11, 2010
I have used the Lumbar Support on Herman Miller chairs at work for a couple of years now. As others have reviewed, over time (6 - 8 years?) the foam pad does separate from the Support's frame.

I recently purchased an Aeron chair for home with the Poster Fit. Poster Fit provides better back support and is adjustable forward and back similar to a car seats' lumbar support. The Poster Fit does not move up and down as the Lumbar Support. This isn't an issue, though. The Poster Fit's adjustment is plenty sufficient for me.

It does seem a bit flimsy and will see how it lasts over time. Hence 4 stars. At least there is a 10 year warranty to cover it. So long as you buy the chair from an authorized dealer.

5Herman came through again!Feb 05, 2010
My son is the one who's using it. He installed it immediately and haven't left his Herman Miller's since.

2Needs ImprovementApr 02, 2008
I've had my Aeron chair for about 10 years. Back then it came with a foam insert lumbar cushion which you could slide up or down within the grooves of the Aeron's frame. The problem was the material didn't hold up over time. I've gone through 2 cushions due to the foam material falling apart.

Finally, Herman Miller has replaced that foam insert with a new design that fits the high tech look the Aeron boasts. I like the new look and I hope this design lasts longer than the old lumbar support cushion. However, I actually prefer the old cushion for the ability to slide the placement of the pressure point to the spot that feels best. Also, even though the new design has an adjustable knob that can increase or decrease the amount of pressure, I need to have it set at the maximum to arrive at an adequate level of pressure.

I wish I had another option but this is still a great chair and it has held up well otherwise.

2Feels like a hackJan 12, 2008
I bought this kit because the regular lumbar support kept splitting (since it's basically made of foam). While this looks like it will be more durable than the lumbar support, and does provide some support - I found the design of the kit and the installation wanting. Despite Herman Miller's reputation for elegant design, this kit feel like a hack, requiring you to stretch (and potentially tear) into the pellicle backing of the chair in order to run a control cable thru. I guess I expected better from HM.
